? Sporting director sacked, boardroom shake-up at this 2. Bundesliga club

There is simply no peace at Fortuna Düsseldorf. Instead of a peaceful Christmas season, pure chaos reigns. Klaus Allofs has already been dismissed as sporting director, and now sporting director Christian Weber has also had to go.

The second-division club just announced this in a press release.

"We want to take new paths in the sporting sector and in squad planning, and initiate a change of course in this difficult phase. For the new direction in the sporting area, the separation was a logical consequence," the new sporting director Sven Mislintat is quoted as saying in the press release.

He also explained that the position of sporting director "will not be filled one-to-one for the time being."
