Report – Inter Milan & Turkey Megastar Fit Enough To Travel To Saudi Arabia For Supercoppa Italiana

Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will fly to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana despite ongoing injury concerns.

According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, the 31-year-old will board the plane to Riyadh after missing yesterday’s trip to Genoa.

Hakan Calhanoglu suffered a muscle injury during last Tuesday’s home defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.

Therefore, Cristian Chivu was unable to call upon his starting playmaker for Sunday’s away match against Genoa.

Meanwhile, Piotr Zielinski, who filled Calhanoglu’s shoes, lived up to the billing at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Chivu reportedly omitted Calhanoglu as a precaution.

Furthermore, the Turkish midfielder has not yet resumed training, despite having escaped a serious injury.

Nevertheless, he will travel to Saudi Arabia with the rest of the squad.

The same applies to Matteo Darmian, who has been on the sidelines since late September.

Yet, the Italian veteran lacks match fitness and will likely start on the bench when Inter take on Bologna on Friday.
