Genoa 1-2 Inter Milan – German Defender Warns Nerazzurri Teammates Against Complacency: “First Place Means A Lot, But It’s A Long Season”
Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck delivered a standout performance in Sunday’s 2-1 Serie A win at Genoa.
Speaking to La Domenica Sportiva via FCInter1908, the 25-year-old urged the Nerazzurri to remain sharp.
Stadio Luigi Ferraris has been a happy hunting ground for Inter in the past ten years.
Indeed, yesterday’s triumph extended Inter’s unbeaten away run against Genoa in Serie A to 13 matches.
Furthermore, Cristian Chivu’s men have now overtaken AC Milan and Napoli at the top of the Serie A standings.
Much of the credit goes to Yann Bisseck, who was outstanding.
In addition to opening the scoring in the sixth minute, the German defender excelled at the back.
Unlike Alessandro Bastoni, Bisseck never put his foot wrong at the Marassi, emerging as one of Inter’s best performers.
Therefore, he could take Francesco Acerbi’s place when Inter face Bologna in Friday’s Supercoppa Italiana semi-final tie in Riyadh.

Inter will meet Vincenzo Italiano’s side in high spirits after reclaiming top spot in Serie A.
Though Bisseck hailed Inter’s result yesterday, he reminded his teammates that the season is far from over.
“This first-place position is very valuable, but the season is still long,” he said. “We have 38 games to play.
“For now, we’re happy, but we need to keep going like this.”
Asked about Inter’s occasional defensive errors, Bisseck replied: “It’s perfectly fine.
“We have strong defenders and aren’t afraid of one-on-one situations – it happens sometimes.
“Our style of play is the right one, so we’ll continue like this.”
With Milan and Napoli vying for the title, this season’s Scudetto race promises to go down to the wire.
Meanwhile, Inter must put their title hopes aside for now and focus on reclaiming Supercoppa Italiana glory.
