Flamengo dominate second half, beat Bragantino and extend lead at the top

Flamengo defeated RB Bragantino 3-0, benefited from a little "help" from their rival Fluminense, and increased their lead at the top of the Brasileirão.

Palmeiras drew 0-0 with Fluminense.

With that, Flamengo, the leader, jumped to 74 points, while second-placed Palmeiras reached "only" 70 points.

There are three matches left for each team, and Flamengo could become champions as early as the next round of the Brasileirão.

On Tuesday (25th), at 9:30 PM, there’s Atlético-MG vs Flamengo and Grêmio vs Flamengo.

If Flamengo wins and Palmeiras loses, Fla will be crowned champions ahead of time.

To take this important step, Flamengo had to overcome a scrappy first half, with few real chances.

The red-and-black’s goal only came in the second half. Arrascaeta received the ball from Jorginho, dribbled past the defender, and shot into the corner.

Soon after, Cebolinha crossed into the box, and Hurtado handled the ball. Jorginho converted the penalty with style: 2-0.

With a packed Maracanã behind them, Fla extended their lead. Bruno Henrique received the ball from Arrascaeta and fired a cross-shot to seal the score.

While it was still 0-0, there were TWO controversies. On one side, a call for a RED card for Carrascal for this challenge:
