Real Madrid beat Barcelona and Atletico to the signing of Celta Vigo wonderkid – report

Real Madrid’s long-term planning has once again taken centre stage, and this time it involves one of Spain’s most exciting young prospects. 

A new report from Defensa Central reveals that Los Blancos are on the verge of securing the signing of Mateo Quintana, a 13-year-old midfielder currently on the books at Celta Vigo. 

The information, originally advanced by journalist Alberto Bravo, paints a clear picture of a transfer that has been slowly but steadily moving towards completion despite strong resistance from the Galician club.

Before explaining the turning point in the negotiations, Bravo made it clear just how hard Celta fought to keep hold of the teenager. 

“The formalities are practically sealed, pending an agreement which, barring any complications, should be reached despite Celta’s attempts to retain the youth player. 

“The youth midfielder, born in 2012, will almost certainly play for La Fabrica de Valdebebas. 

“Celta, aware of this player’s tremendous talent, promoted him to Cadete B after he scored seven goals in seven games in the Galician Division of Honour.”
