Inter Milan 0-1 AC Milan – Cristian Chivu Furious At Most Famous Italian Female Journalist: “It Was My Choice”

Inter head coach Cristian Chivu has lashed out at renowned Italian journalist Diletta Leotta following his side’s 1-0 derby defeat to AC Milan.

According to FCInter1908, Diletta’s post-match questions about Chivu’s personnel choices drew a sharp response from the 45-year-old.

It was far from a dream managerial debut in the Derby della Madonnina for Cristian Chivu.

Despite Inter’s dominant performance, Milan scooped up an all-important 1-0 victory at San Siro.

Indeed, Christian Pulisic inspired the Rossoneri to their second win in their last three league matches against Inter.

Meanwhile, former Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu helped Massimiliano Allegri’s team put all three points on the board.

The Turkish midfielder squandered a late penalty, as Mike Maignan made a terrific save to keep him at bay.

However, it’s only fair to admit that Inter deserved at least a point.

In addition to the missed penalty, the Nerazzurri wasted a few more chances throughout the game.

Therefore, the result did not sit well with Chivu.

In a tense exchange, Chivu firmly defended his tactical choices.

Indeed, Diletta questioned Chivu’s decision to sub Lautaro Martinez off in the 66th minute.

Leotta: “And the choice to take Lautaro off in the 64th minute? Is he okay, or is it just a tactical decision?”

Chivu: “Lautaro is fine, Lautaro is fine.”

Leotta: “Then why was he taken off in the 64th minute?”

Chivu: “Can’t I change players? It’s a tactical choice, my choice. I think the players on the bench also deserve credit for contributing, and they did — both Pio and Bonny. It was my choice, my decision.”

Leotta: “Of course, I thought there might be something else. That he wasn’t really okay.”

Chivu: “No, I said he was fine, and you asked me why I took him off.”
